Forza Horizon 6 is keeping the engine hot with its second major Festival Playlist update, officially titled Horizon Decades. Running from June 18, 2026, to July 16, 2026, this four-week event shifts our focus to Japan’s incredible roads through a chronological celebration of automotive history.

If you love car culture, this series is a trip down memory lane. Each week spotlights a specific era of motoring, moving from the analog beauty of the 1980s right up to the high-tech performance of the 2010s.

The Weekly Timeline: Cruising Through the Eras
The series progress follows a strict weekly rotation. This means your track events, PR stunts, and seasonal challenges will require you to dig into your garage and pull out cars strictly from the active decade.

Week 1 (Summer - June 18): 1980s Automotive Era

Week 2 (Autumn - June 25): 1990s Automotive Era

Week 3 (Winter - July 2): 2000s Automotive Era

Week 4 (Spring - July 9): 2010s Automotive Era

New Spaces, Brutal Challenges, and Easter Eggs
Series 2 expands the open world and brings back some high-level endgame content that veteran players have been begging for.

The Evolving World Car Meet
Playground Games has added a dedicated gathering spot at the Hokubu Time Attack Circuit, complete with custom Horizon Decades branding. It integrates seamlessly into the Shared World, meaning you can just pull up, show off your custom liveries, chat with other drivers, and easily form Convoys. It feels like a genuine, organic car meet.

The Return of The Trial
The legendary 6v6 co-op championship is back at Unbeatable difficulty. However, there is a catch: access is strictly restricted to elite drivers who have unlocked the Gold Wristband (Horizon Legends). If you want to test your teamwork and racing lines against the toughest AI in the game, this is where you do it.

New Profile Badges
You can unlock a few unique badges for your account by completing specific tasks during the series:

Time Traveler: Simply log in and play at any point during Series 2.

Festival Enjoyer: Complete every single activity type on the Festival Playlist.

Egg-cellent!: A fun little community easter egg—you need to park a 2006 Dodge Ram SRT-10 inside the Hokubu Car Meet.

Series Reward Cars
By accumulating points across the entire four-week festival, you can unlock two incredibly high-tier series rewards.

2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430 120 PTS Making its return from FH5, this beast packs 430 horsepower into a featherlight 1,059 kg chassis. It is an absolute weapon on tight corners.
Season-Specific Milestone Unlocks
On top of the overall series rewards, each individual week brings its own prize tiers when you hit the 20 and 40-point marks.

20 PTS: 1989 Volkswagen Rallye Golf (A brilliant new-to-Forza homologation special)

Fixing the Engine: Quality-of-Life Updates
Alongside the fresh content, the Series 2 Release Notes outline some massive backend fixes and progression updates that make the daily grind much smoother.

AI Tuning: The developers have made noticeable improvements to Drivatar difficulty balancing, which should smooth out those frustrating, artificial speed spikes we often see with the AI.

The Level 100 Progression Shift: In a massive surprise, the XP curve required to level up between Levels 26 and 100 has been drastically reduced. If you were already above level 32, the game automatically bumps you to level 100 right away, instantly handing out the coveted 'Maxed Out' achievement.

UI Tracking: For the completionists out there, a clear "Roads Driven" percentage has been added directly to the Region Overview map, making it way easier to hunt down those last few undiscovered grey roads.

The Player Verdict: Nostalgia vs. Recycled Rewards
As expected, Series 2 has generated plenty of polarized debate across Reddit and the official Forza forums.

On one hand, veteran players are thrilled. Bringing back The Trial gives endgame players something to sweat over, and fixing the grueling level 100 grind is a massive win for respect of the player's time.

On the other hand, the community reward structure has faced some heavy criticism. The primary complaint centers on a lack of entirely new-to-franchise vehicles for free. Many players feel let down because several reward slots are being used to repeat rare cars that were just available in the Series 1 playlist, rather than introducing completely fresh machinery.
