So, auf ein neues... vielleicht kann mir hier jemand helfen:

Ich möchte für ein Car (6000 Polys) LOD gmts erstellen... (wie man es gewohnt ist...)
Polys reduzieren ist da glaube ich das Zauberwort... aber wie?

Ist das im ZM2 möglich, oder gibts da extra Programme für?

The best way to make LOD's is to let the outside as it is and delete for example parts of the dash (buttons), the pedals and the gear leaver for the ***VB.gtm. For the ***VC.gmt delete for example the bottom part of the seat, the rest of the bottom parts of the dash and some parts of the rollcage. For the ***VD.gmt delete all the additional stuff inside of the car.
In my opinion this is the best way to make LOD's because you don't see tha car "jumping" to another LOD while viewing the car by the track cams.

BTW, sorry that I did not answere in German. I can only read it and write very basic German

das is auch ne möglichkeit wie sie robin nennt, doch wirklich weit kommt man damit eigentlich nicht

so weit ich das weis, nimmste das shape eigentlich her und löschst sukzessive von einer seite anfangend die polys raus und füllst wieder mit weniger die lücken. dann wird schlussendlich das ganze shape wieder neu gemapt. das machste dann so lange wie es nötig ist
ich weis nich wie das jetzt mit den models is, die du hast, da wirste mit der einfachen version von robin wohl net sooo weit kommen, auch wenns resultat halt möglich macht die "lod-sprünge" zu vermeiden. die performance wird wahrscheinlich nur viel viel schlechter sien, als mit der reduzierungsmethode

Okey, you are right. When the most of the poly's are for the outside making LOD's will be a bit more difficult.
Here are my LOD's:
130iva.gmt: 11822
130ivb.gmt: 9590
130ivc.gmt: 7177
130ivd.gmt: 6163
130ivs.gmt: 3471

And I must say, with 21 opponents, the texturedetail at full and the opponent detals at high the FPS is suprisingly good for my old Ati-Radeon 9600....
